Truth Detective didn't actually understand what Black Hat was doing; he wasn't that versed in computers but he understood that the man was doing something important and that money would ensue out of this.
They were huddled in the bunker and in the outside world it was the coldest time of the winter when finally Black hat got in to the account of an illegal Deep Web drug dealer. There he had a list of the addresses that the drug dealer had sent the drugs to and also the flow of cryptocurrency. The man had made hundreds of thousands of dollars of his illegal business
“The police would probably love to see that list and those facts and figures”, Truth Detective said to the Black Hat.
“Yeah they surely would but what would we get paid for that kind of effort?” Black Hat said.
“Exactly nothing. Can you maybe do something to get that guy to pay us something for not to reveal these facts about his illegal business”, Truth Detective asked?
“Oh yeah I could do that! I could even pop it on his desktop the next time he started up so he will see the message from you “Greetings from an easily bribed Private Detective. Pay or Get caught!”
“Do it”, Truth Detective said.
For a couple of minutes Black Hat was looking deeper into the Drug Dealers way of doing his business, and he noticed that the drug dealer takes big risks with the postage system And seems to be getting paid in an esoteric cryptocurrency named ethereum.
“I'm going to input our ethereum address over here so he can pay the bribe" 0x172ade0a0567299cb69365ef96046f24ca1d80a3
"And let's just say that he has to pay 2,000 dollars For us to not reveal this information”, The Black Hat said "Otherwise we are going to take this to the Police"
And the next day when the drug dealer woke up that's exactly what happened on his desktop there was a message from an unknown program telling him to pay $2,000 in ethereum or his whole business would be cracked down by the Police.
Do you know what happened? Truth Detective and the Black Hat received the 2000$ dollars in ethereum and the drug dealer proceeded on his operation of course thinking in his mind who were these guys and would they really not take this to the Police or where they actually breaking the law themselves?
